Community Service with It’s My Bag

Did you know that Anywhere But Here Travel is deeply committed to giving back to our community? We had been searching for just the right way that we could contribute when we heard about the It’s My Bag movement in the travel industry. Our dear friend, Tammy Levent, had a brilliant idea to help foster children get back their dignity and that is when we knew we had found the right organization. Andrea King is not only the President of Anywhere But Here Travel but she is also the Area Director for this organization. Now we need your help to spread the word and help us collect new bags and backpacks for foster children.

It’s My Bag was founded with one principle in mind. No child (or the things they own) should be cast aside. Tammy Levent, owner of Elite Travel, founded It’s My Bag in 2014 after visiting a foster care home and saw that children had to carry their belongings in large black garbage bags. This inspired Tammy to encourage those around her to donate suitcases to each child in the home so that they could have a place to store their clothes and belongings.

Today, It’s My Bag is becoming a nationwide movement of travel agents coming together and encouraging the community to donate suitcases, travel bags, backpacks and duffel bags so that every child in foster care can have their own bag.

We are proud to be a featured charity with eWomenNetwork Snohomish at their meeting on June 9th in Mill Creek. Please bring a new bag, backpack or duffel bag when you attend this meeting or you can make arrangements by calling or emailing us to drop off at our office in Lynnwood. Let’s make a difference together!
